  1. Hello, currently started receiving $450 SS at 66 years old with 36 SS credits from Totalization agreement and living in Canada. Also getting $610 CPP. If I now go back to US working for 4 credits and after filing taxes do I get higher SS or am I stuck with current amount? Few years back they said Id have $900 with 40 credits. Not sure if WEF is deducting my current SS amount.

    1. Hi,
Thanks for the question. I honestly don’t know the answer. I haven’t seen someone retroactively have a WEP reduction after not having one, but I can’t say for sure that is correct. You will get a higher SS amount if you do work in the states and pay into SS. Also, if you want Medicare, you will want 40 credits here in the states. Thanks, Bryan
